About Taiwan Popcorn Chicken

Located at 1223 University Ave #120, Riverside, CA 92507, Taiwan Popcorn Chicken operates as a taiwanese restaurant serving Riverside in California. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.

In cities with a Chinatown, weekend mornings bring dim sum carts or order sheets, and lines form early at the most popular spots in Riverside; walk-ins are standard and reservations are uncommon outside large banquet restaurants. Regional labels matter: Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, Shanghainese and Taiwanese kitchens cook very differently, so a restaurant's stated region is a better guide to the food than the word "Chinese" alone. Some smaller restaurants in California are BYOB with no corkage fee; call ahead to confirm. A tip of 15-20% is customary for table service but not expected at counter-order takeout. Spice level, MSG and allergen questions are normal to ask before ordering, and most kitchens are happy to leave an ingredient out or tone down the heat if you mention it when ordering rather than after the food arrives.

No hours are on file. If you plan a visit, phone first or check the Google Maps link on this page for the latest times. You can reach Taiwan Popcorn Chicken at (951) 222-2238; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions.

I would definitely recommend trying this place out. While there are fancier places around, the staff is super friendly and the portion sizes are pretty decent. You get enough food for the amount you pay. It is popular with college students and can get a little busy during lunch hours. I'd recommend getting the entrees as they come with a main course, rice, soup and a small salad.

The food is good. It's the service... I don't tend to give bad reviews. I don't really end up with bad experiences. Today, I had to write this. I was basically forced to give a tip by the cashier when she picked up the check. I did not leave a tip today because we ordered chicken nuggets for the kid that was with us. We waited about 15 mins before we asked about the nuggets. She realized she had given them to another table. Instead of just giving us a new order of chicken nuggets, she tried taking them from the other table to give them to us... The other guy already had his kid eating them and was noticeably upset when they were being taken away. Im pretty sure he ended up having to pay for them anyways because we had to pay for ours still. When we got up to leave, she was cleaning up our table. She looked at the check, went to put away the dishes, came back, and told me that I HAD to put a tip regardless of the amount. I felt immense pressure under the circumstances to rewrite my total since I didn't want to cause a scene. It was extremely awkward for me... If you like proper service, do not come here. I feel bad for writing this, but how else am I supposed to let others k

Food wasn't the greatest. Service was not pleasant. Came from work late at night. And then the server came running asking for more tip. After I just paid for 2 people. Wow. Never coming back.

The spicy fish lunch special that I ordered was tasty and the eggplant was also good. The rice had a weird consistency but overall, it was just as I expected. I'd recommend this place! Just FYI, credit card minimum is $10 or they charge an extra $1.

Came over for a quick bite before an appointment, was pleased to know they have a to-go menu and services. Came back after the appointment and tried out their desserts, unfortunately they ran out of toast. Their toffee black tea was delicious! Their sesame balls were lightly toasted and scrumptious. Best ones I've had in a while. β™‘ I'd love to come back to try their entrΓ©e and dinner menu.
